Axelera Edge Products

Axelera Edge is a line of industry-standard PCIe accelerator cards built for the highest performance-efficiency inference acceleration on the market. The cards combine software ease of use, power efficiency, and scalability, and plug into existing infrastructure without a redesign. Configurations are available for systems where passive cooling is sufficient, or with active cooling.

Metis is Axelera AI's sub-10-watt AI Processing Unit (AIPU). It combines proprietary Digital In-Memory Computing (D-IMC) and RISC-V controlled dataflow technology with the Voyager SDK, delivering high performance at a fraction of the cost and power consumption of other solutions, with built-in data security.

Europa is Axelera AI's next-generation AI Processing Unit (AIPU), built to scale from heavy edge deployments up to enterprise data centers. It doubles the AI core count to 8 second-generation cores, delivering up to 629 TOPS at an average power of 30w, with 16 RISC-V vector processing cores, 128MB of L2 SRAM, and 200GB/s of DRAM bandwidth, plus onboard pre- and post-processing and a video decoder to reduce CPU load. Europa uses the same Voyager SDK as Metis, so applications can be developed once and deployed across both platforms.

The Edge 130p is a half-height, half-length (HHHL) PCIe accelerator card powered by one Metis AIPU, built for customers and developers who need performance in edge scenarios. It handles demanding vision applications as well as local language models.

The Axelera Edge 232p is a half-height, half-length PCIe card built with the Europa AIPU. This card was purpose built for agentic AI and generative AI across Physical AI use cases to Enterprise language serving. Supporting 100B parameter models, the Edge 232p gives customers control of their models, the ability to upgrade existing compute infrastructure and expanding the impact of AI in their workplaces.

The Edge 130p delivers 214 TOPS and up to 3,200 FPS on ResNet-50. In FPS benchmarks across Ultralytics YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8 networks, it outperforms two competitor accelerators. For example, reaching 865 FPS on Ultralytics YOLOv5s compared to 543 and 334 FPS for the competitors tested.

The Axelera Edge 130p and Axelera Edge 232p integrates through Axelera’s Voyager SDK, which speeds up application deployment with hassle-free evaluation, software integration, and advanced quantization tools for uncompromised prediction accuracy. A wide range of end-to-end AI pipelines and models are available out of the box. Voyager Wingman, Axelera’s agentic platform allows for an even easier experience, allowing users to chat in order to create pipelines and troubleshoot deployment.
